Lords of the detailing dance, Dodo Juice are about to bust some moves with the launch of The Spin Doctor: a rotary machine polisher designed to bring fast cut machine polishing to the masses.

Remove swirl marks, eradicate marring and re-level your paint with The Spin Doctor’s digital speed control. Simply press the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ and you can accurately and conveniently control the speed of the unit, which can run between 1000-3000rpm (in 100rpm increments), all visible from the easy to read LCD display.

This ability to fine-tune your polishing speeds means you can tailor The Spin Doctor to your preferred speed and more importantly repeat the process precisely. And with 1100W of power and a concentrated rotary action, the cutting power puts entry level orbital machines to shame.

Another important feature of The Spin Doctor is its weight, or lack of it. At only 1.8kg ‘bare’ or 2kg with side-handle, it is between 10-40% lighter than comparable competitor machines, and every gram matters when you’re tackling tough ceramic clearcoat in the middle of a wide bonnet.

As experts and enthusiasts themselves, Dodo Juice have also thought about the little things, such as an impressively long 4m power lead – so you don’t have to rely on cluttering extension cables or even reaching the ‘other-side’ of your car without the Austin Powers driveway shuffle.

With spare motor brushes, a hard-carry case and a full year’s warranty The Spin Doctor is a 220-240v, three-pin rotary polisher ‘that taketh away what thy gritty sponge hath inflicted’. At £99.95 it represents stellar value for money and is manufactured with the quality, practicality and funkiness associated with all of Dodo Juice’s products.

What you need to know

1.8Kg makes The Spin Doctor lightweight and compact

1100w

220-240v

Full TUV and EC approval

Hard carry case

Digital speed control (Via LCD Display)

1000-3000rpm speed adjustment in 100rpm increments

Spare motor brushes

4m ‘extra-long’ lead

1 year manufacturer warranty

Before George Lucas rings his lawyer, he should be aware that Dodo Juice don’t legally refer to the Supernatural Wash Mitt by its colloquial and popular nickname: ‘The Wookie’s Fist’, but it’s not difficult to see where the name has come from. I’ve even heard rumours that the mitt has been known to eat lesser wash mitts, drink half your bucket in one go and is being entered in this year’s Crufts…

As the holy grail of wash mitts, the Supernatural Wash Mitt has a lot to live up to but thankfully it never disappoints. An ultra-soft wash mitt with a massively deep pile, so if wash mitts are your thing then this is the daddy.

Looking after your Wookie’s Fist

Some have been known to spend more time grooming their Supernatural Wash Mitt than they do their own pets (or even themselves) but I would argue it’s equally as important. Made from natural sheepskin, a soggy, unloved mitt can rot. Just follow these steps:

Comb the mitt before use, as debris like grass seeds can be caught in the long hair – use a metal pet comb or brush

After use, rinse under a warm tap to remove as much debris and dirt as possible – do not machine wash (if you must, make sure the mitt is in a pillow case to prevent the long pile being caught).

Use a dedicated wool detergent if the mitt is very dirty

Allow to dry NATURALLY with the cuff propped open (section of neck of a clean plastic bottle, perhaps) – DO NOT TUMBLE DRY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES – do not place on hot radiators… you don’t want the mitt to completely dry out and become brittle

Comb with the pet comb or brush to get the coat fluffy again

The world’s priciest wash mitt.

RRP 19.95 GBP

We were just about to get some normal round foam applicators made, when we realised that they didn’t fit inside a pot of wax very well. Sure, you could fold one in two and scrunch it up a bit. But that’s hardly ideal. And then just as we were dipping our bare fingers into a pot of wax to hand-apply it to the flanks of some lucky car, we had a revelation… what if we created a super soft foam finger mitt? This would allow for the tactility of fingertip application, with the consistency and ease of using a foam applicator.

You also wouldn’t have to worry about the applicator being dropped or blown away in the wind, and neither would you have to fold it in two. Job done. We then specced it up (110ppi foam – as soft as it gets) and had them hand stitched by our supplier (thank you, Morvan) at great expense – glue or sonic welding weren’t strong enough to create what we had in mind. This means that they’re pricey for an applicator, but we think that it’s worth it – they’re the best you’ll find.

Single pack RRP 3.95 GBP.
Double pack RRP 7.50 GBP

If you have a dog or long haired girlfriend, you’ll know how annoying they can be. Not the dog or girlfriend (although both can have their moments), but hairs. They’ll stick to carpet, upholstery, headlining. Anything.

So as an answer, Dodo Juice have sourced a professional grade 10cm wide sticky roller with a reusable, ergonomic handle, for removing lint, hairs, fluff and other debris from fabrics inside the car. It can even work outside the car on canvas soft tops.

Unlike the cheaper ‘clothes rollers’ you get, this comes with a proper sized perforated roll of sticky sheets – 20 metres long to be precise, or about 5x as long as the cheap rollers. Once you’ve captured all the hair and lint you can and the sheet has lost its stickiness, just tear it off to expose a fresh sheet underneath. Then, once the roll has been used up, replace it with a new one.

Sticky Roller Kit RRP 24.95 GBP. (shown)
Sticky Roller Handle RRP 15.95 GBP.
Sticky Roll refill (20m) RRP 9.95 GBP

So what’s good about these bottles? Well you’ve got two choices of spray – trigger or finger for starters. Then there are two bottle sizes of 250ml or 500ml.

The bottles are good for any diluted products, clay lube, etc but it’s probably wise not to fill them with radioactive waste or anything like that.

Even the spray heads have been hand picked to ensure you get a nice fine mist instead of wastefully blobbing product on each spray. Oh, and the label is clear so that the liquid provides the colour for the Dodo Juice logo – see, it’s all in the details! Buy Let Us Spray bottles

And it’s with these words ringing in the ears of those at Dodo HQ that the dedicated Dodo Juice wheel mitt was born. Annoyed at having to dirty microfibre cloths or negotiate an alloy wheel’s spokes with a sponge, the Captain Crevice changes all that.

Dirty jobs require a specific tool to avoid cross contamination (which could lead to paintwork getting scratched). This Dodo Juice wheel mitt is made from thin wall microfibre and is perfect for reaching in and around wheels. Extremely soft, it gives more control and less splatter than a brush.

Give your elbows, arms and wrists a well deserved rest this year and let the machines do all the work.

Dodo Juice have taken the well respected DAS-6 dual action orbital machine polisher and given it a funky new Dodo-inspired paint job.

Complete with it’s (also Dodo Juice branded) carry bag, Buff Daddy comes with a ventilated 125mm/5″ backing plate, soft grip gear case, spare brushes, choice of D or side handles etc. 240v and UK plug.
All you need is a couple of pads (125mm foam) and a couple of compounds (Lime Prime or Need for Speed as your finishing compound perhaps, with something like Menzerna 3.02 IP for a polishing compound with more cut). The machine also comes with a year’s warranty and is CE marked.

Expect to pay in the region of is £89.95 inc VAT for the whole kaboodle.

Why you should use a machine polisher

Removing swirls by hand can be hard work, time-consuming and often leads to inconsistent results. The answer is a machine polisher – and the most user-friendly of all are the orbital machines (often called Dual Action or “DA” polishers).

Because the polishing head travels in an orbit, there is less chance of the paint being inadvertently damaged.
